  2. Do you usually stimulate the online academic contact between the pupils, the teachers or between both?
  3. Do you think that it is necessary to favor the employees with courses of technologies?
  4. Do you prepare campaigns to warn the possible bad use of ICT and also teach students how to use them correctly?
  5. Does your institution promote the exchange of knowledge between the students; and also between the teachers?
  6. Do you think that virtual learning spaces are a good idea for the learning development of the child?
  7. Do you permit that teachers and students use their personal devices for an academic purpose in class?
  8. Do you ask teachers for a specific mastery level in ICT ?  If it is yes, which one? How do you check it?
  9. After using the digital learning technologies, are you able to give feedback to your students?
  10. Have your students got enough knowledge about technologies to develop the tasks?
  11. Do you provide the necessary resources to develop the tasks that include technological devices?
  12. Does the management team know the opinion of the students and the parents about the use of ICT in the center?
  13. Do you promote collaborative learning in your class by using the ICT?
  14. Do you include specific goals or objectives in your strategic plan to insert digital-age learning? Which ones?

Thanks for your time Mr. Smith. It has been a pleasure to have this interview with you.

TASK 11

Victoria : Hi everyone, we are Marta and Victoria from Spiky Teachers. Today we are going to show you the relationships that we have found among the complexities, relationships, schools as learning communities and coordination structures.

Marta: From the point that the school structures are complex and based on the complexity theory, we will start talking about the close relationship that exist between complexity theory and the connections that exist in a school (teacher-teacher,teacher-student, student-student, beyond the classroom and within the learning). Inside the different levels that form a complex system, such is a school, connections take place inside and between the levels.

Victoria: Through the connection within the learning the knowledge can appear in two different ways. One of them emerges individually, in which you link new experiences with existing understanding to construct personal understanding. As we can see in the text School as learning communities, this type of learning can be identified as incidental learning,  what is a byproduct of some other activity and people are not always conscious of that they are learning. The other way emerges by groups, that consist on the knowledge that is exchanged between individual group members creating a shared understanding. As we can see in the text School as learning communities, this type of learning can be identified as informal learning, what is a particular way of learning which arises from the activities and interests of individuals and groups.

Marta: If this connections act in an appropriate way and like a team, the emerging knowledge will appear, so all the levels must be connected and cooperate to work efficiently, if not, new knowledge is unlike to emerge. Whether the new knowledge emerge, the diversity and redundancy will appear, understood as the continuous appearance of  innovations that will cause prior innovations obsolete. Therefore innovation is an essential part to the extent of  diversity and redundancy, such as for balancing randomness and deterministic order, what is the equilibrium that exist between the new forces that innovate and the forces that tend to maintain the educational organization with a traditional structure. These changing forces can appear for the teacher-teacher connection and beyond the classroom connection.

Victoria: Getting back to the complexity theory, as we have already said, is related with the connections within school, but also with the coordination structures, in other words, all the parts that take decisions within the school that are usually distributed at different levels such as the school board or the tutor. The coordination structures make a serie of decisions, measures and changes, in the way that the teaching, learning and an appropriate knowledge transmission, will be possible through the different connections previously said. Moreover, diversity and redundancy are related with the coordination structures because these are the ones that determine if a certain innovation is made or if the center maintains what was previously established.

Marta:  All that we have said until now, depends on the learning context, because everything will depend on the school characteristics , the circumstances, the culture, the beliefs or the religion. Every member of the school help to form the learning context since the education and the learning that is received in the school will be influenced by everything mentioned previously. Therefore, there are no members more important than others because we all are a key piece for the good functioning of the center and the success of the learning.

Victoria: Once we have said this and from our point of view, we consider that it’s not possible to compare a school with an enterprise because we,as a future teachers, don’t pretend to create a product, what we want is to achieve that our pupils as well as all the members of the school develop themselves, that they learn and cultivate their own capacities.

Marta: We hope to have helped you a bit to understanding that in education everything is related  and that we all must be an active part of it. Thanks you for your attention.

ANALYST WEEK 12

Hello everyone!! I am Sara and this week I´m the analiyst if the Spiky Teachers team! Hope you like it😘

The task of his week was about the complexities and schools that learn, It was a difficult task at the beggining because we didn´t know how to star but after reading all the document and making a brianstorming we realise that it wasn´t as difficult as we thought.
The best moment of the task was creating the poster because we were relaxed and we weren´t stressed thinking about the exams that are coming next week.

After doing this task we realise that all the components of the schools and the process of learning are related and they all together create we we called education, which is a very sophisticattes and everyone directly or indirectly is part of it. This concepts have helped as in having clear the strutured of what all we are learning is based on.

As all the weeks we did a good group jod, we perform as if we were only one, we know how to compensate our abilities, because we divided the activities depending if we are good or bad, but we also like challenges and we also get out our confort zone. In contrast we still have to improve in the time that we spend doing the task because we are always finising in the last moment, but thing that it is because we are very perfeccionist with our work.

See you next week!!!!!!

FACILITATOR WEEK 12

Hello everybody!! I am Andrea, the facilitator of our group this week. It is the second time I play this role, because I was the facilitator in one of the firsts tasks. The fact of doing this role for the second time allows me to improve as such.

We started the task on Monday in class. The activity consisted on reading two documents, the Complexity paper & the Connection paper, to propose a connection map between them and then, explain how all the concepts in those documents are related to each other.

As we had to read two documents we divided them between us to sum up and get the main ideas, in order to relate concepts.

In the afternoon, we met as every week at Marta´s residence. There we put in common all that we had read and we start the main point of the task, thinking on the relation that all those concepts could have.
We were working hard all afternoon and our energies were depleted over time. So, to motivate my group mates, I brought, as the facilitator, some snacks and juices. This gave us a push to finish the afternoon more effectively!

The following day, we met again to finish the task. We decided to met for have lunch toguether, in order to seize the time and finish the activity not too late.

On Wednesday, we had to present our work in class, by means of a Speed learning as the first week of the course. Our two stars, Victoria and Marta, exposed the activity really well. They did a good job and they learnt a lot because they were getting more confidence as they repeated the speech. While they were exposing, the rest of us were listening to our classmates presentations. We also learnt a lot about the topic of this task.

To conclude, we have experimented a good learning. We have been able to relate the concepts found in the document from which we have extracted information, working in team.

Thanks for reading, see you next week!!

STAR WEEK 12

Hi everyone! My name is Marta and this week I have to be one of the stars of the task. This week was a bit hard for me and my group, because of the complexity of doing the connections and the relationships among the four documents. However, once we had understand deeply all the documents and by the help of a schema that we did, we finally reach to do our poster. Then the presentation day, in my own experience was a good day because Victoria and I explained the task in a clearly way. Although I was nervous at the beggining, the fact that we have to present a lot of tomes made me yo relax while I was talking.

That's all for this week. Thanks for reading!🌵❤
Hi! 🙋🏻 I'm Victoria. This week I'm the second star as my role was supporter. From my experiencie, It has been a bit complicated week because we didn't know what we had to do exactly. The presentation day I was a bit nervious because I didn't know if what we have done was right or not. By contrast, It was a entretained presentation because we had to repeat our speech to each group and It made me feel more confortable. Linda came to our presentation in the second speech and, although I was nervious I think we did It well.
In the task post you have our poster and what we said to present the activity.

That's all for this week. See you next task Spikies. 💪🏻

TRANSLATOR WEEK 12

Hi everyone!!😛 My name is Emma and this week  I'm the translator in our last task , so let's see the words that we have been working with:

  • Balancing randomness and deterministic order: Is the equilibrium that exist between the new forces that innovate and the forces that tend to maintain the educational organization with a traditional structure.

  • Informal Learning: is a particular way of learning which arises from the activities and interests of individuals and groups.

  • Incidental learning :  is a byproduct of some other activity and people are not always conscious of that they are learning.

JOURNALIST WEEK 12

Hi everyone!! My name is Clara and i'm going to be the journalist of this week, what means that I have to tell you all about our journey through this task so... let's get started!!

We started working on this task on Monday morning in class reading the different texts that we had to relate. This afternoon we met on Marta's school. We put all our ideas in common and we made the relatonships that we developed between the main concepts of the texts.

On Tuesday evening we met again in order to make our diagram with all the relationships. We made a poster in a big and simple way for it to be more clear to understand.

Finally we presented it in class on Wednesday in a Speed Learning format, so the stars of each group were located in different corners of the room and the rest of us saw their presenttions one by one.

Here you have a blog where I have found a blog with some tips in order to motivate students in class:

And here you can seer the blog of our classmates because I think that this week they have done a really good job:

I hope you liked our story of the week and see you soon!!🌵

TASK 10

This week we have explored the Personal Learning Environments (PLE). So that, three members of our group have been interviwed by the other members in order to know how is their PLE. To know this, we have asked our colleages these questions:

  1. Where do you get the information from?
  2. Where do you modify the information?
  3. Who do you share the information with?
  4. Lacks of your PLE.

Then, we have created an interactive image that represent each one in Thinklink. Here you have the images.

ANALYST WEEK 11

Hello! I am Andrea and this week I have been the analyst of my group.

This week we have worked on the tenth task. We just dedicated to it one day, wednesday, compared to others weeks that we invest more time in the development of the activity.

One of the best part of the activity is that the group worked fluently in class, dividing a picture per two of us. Another good point of the activity is that we have learnt a lot, such as, new things like the principal topic of the task, pedagogical learning enviroment, or making interactive pictures using edition programs.

Hope the followings weeks we will still working as good as posible and surpassing us day by day.

Thanks for reading,
See you next week!!

FACILITATOR WEEK 11

Hi everybody! I´m Marta and this week I´m here again because I have the  facilitator role, so, lets start!

This week was different from the others, because we didn´t have class on Monday so our teacher can´t  explain to us the task of the week. So what we did was, during Wednesday lessons, the teacher explain to us a simple task and we had enough time to do it in class.

First of all, we have explored our Personal Learning Environments (PLE). We did this by interviewing us with a series of questions. Then we created three interactive images that each one represented three members of our group. We also include the information gathered by the questions about PLE in the images.

I have tried to motivate my group during this short task. Especially when they had to think and find a image that represents themselves that was difficult, so I gave to them some original ideas.

That´s all for this week.
Hope you like the post!!!
See you soon Spiky followers!!🌵

TRANSLATOR WEEK 11

Hi everyone!! My name is Clara and I'm the translator during this week, so let's see the words that we have been working with.

-Personal Learning Environment (PLE): set of tools, ways of gathering information, interactions, and activities that every single person use with the aim of learning. It's divided into three parts, which are: where and how do we get information, where and how do we modiffy and create our own conclussions and reflexions about the informationthat we have, and who do we share de information with (PLN - Personal Learning Network).

JOURNALIST WEEK11

Hello!! I’m Sara and this week I’m the journalist of spiky teachers team!!!!
This week we didn’t have a task to develop during monday and thursday, we develop the activity only on Wednesday
The concept that we had to discover was the Personal Learning Environment.
At the begginig of the class we divided the class in groups in order to do the activity. Then each group was divided to develop 3 diferent images representing the PLN of some members of or group.
We spend a great time although we were a bit lost at the beginning because we had to use the web 2.0 called thinglink and any of us knew how to use it.
That' s all for thus week!!! See you next week!!

TASK 9

This week we have had  to explore the different types of leaderships that we can find in the schools. Each group of our class chose a one and represent it in the class. The star this week had to personalize a candidate to the direction of the centre and create a campaign.

Of the seven different groups that there are in the classroom, only two groups chose a different style from the participative.
And now, we have classified the groups with the type of leader that they chose:
  • Spacers: Transformational
  • Architeachers: Participative
  • Flower Power: Partcipative
  • The Superstar Teachers:Participative
  • Starfish: Transactional
  • Fishers in the River: Participative
  • Ladies&Gentleman: Partcipative
As we can see, all groups except "Spacers" and "Starfish" chose participative style. In this type of leadership the relationships within the school are very important ; in autoritarian, the most important thing is the authority, if someone does not do what the leader wants this person will be punished. In the transactional style, we can stand out rewards, if you give me, I give you, and benefits are really important; and in the transformational there is not anything that stands out, because this style is in constant change.

Here you can see the discourse that we created for ous star:

Good morning.
I am Ana, the candidate for been your Headmaster.
Have you ever felt that you are not valuated or your work do not receive the consideration that its deserve?
If you vote me, this will change and I am going to show you why. But, don’t worry, I will be brief.

All of us have dreamt with a school in which will reign the dignity, respect and participation of all members of it. For this reason, I introduce myself as a candidate to change the current management system, because everyone deserves to be heard and taken into account no matter where we are.

Usually, people have make us believe that having leaders who impose their workers, who have the power of taking all decisions and who do not worried even for their own team, is the right thing.

By contrast, I bring a change here, I bet on an education in which we all have voice, in which we are all participants in the decisions that are going to take place within the center.
I bet for creativity, for common effort to work for a good devélopment of our students.

If you vote me, I promise you that every effort will be valued, the talent will not be left behind, we want to embrace the capacities of each member of the community and that no one feels left behind, as Henry Ford said; “Coming together is beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success”

As you can see in this image, my objectives are clear. I want to create an environment in which all of us are treated with equality and dignity; where we work together, including me.For that reason I am concerned about the compromise of achieve this objective.

I promise that if I win these elections I will create a new educational center eliminating the traditional learning methods as well as one of the biggest enemy of children: the textbook, which makes them learn in a mechanical and boring way.

In order to achieve this objective, I propose making the child the protagonist of his/her own learning, experimenting, investigating and internalizing all the contents by project based learning. As Ignacio Estrada said “If a child can't learn the way we teach maybe we should teach the way they learn”.

I can also say that it will continue being a bilingual school, given the importance that talking more than one language has nowadays.

In addition, I purpose to set aside the system in which the unique interest of the leader are the objectives and the work that should be developed, worrying about the well-being of each and every member of this center, attending to the needs that are required in each moment. There will be replaced the fear and the terror that normally people had to the leader by the confidence and calm, creating a relationship of equal to equal between all.

On the other hand, punishments will not exist because of a wrong behavior, but the big contributions and successes will be rewarded. Therefore, the problems that could emerge  will be treated in a reasonable way, through the dialog and comprehension of the parts implied instead of what has been till now, where the leader was the only one that was taking part in the conflict and was solving it in the way that seemed to be the correct for him without taking into account nobody else.

To conclude, the access to a favorable education is in your hands and for this reason I want to be participant of it. I know that there are a lot of candidates and all of them are suitable for it, but I am convinced that I can offer you a new vision that can make you change the way of looking at education.
And remember, as Nelson Mandela said “ Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”.

We have done a poster for the star with the phrase :

"The school that we wanted. It's the moment"!

Finally, we created our own pin:

ANALYST WEEK 10

Hello everybody! My name is Marta and this week I have to evaluate all the members of my group and the task in general, as I'm the analyst.

The task of this week was about the different types of leadership. Firstly, we had to learn this the teacher has facilitated us a document and then having this knowledge, then we have to elaborate a speech according to a leadership profile, with the aim of being elected  in the elections of a school, to be the headmaster.

If I have to choose the worse part of the activity, I would say it was the moment when we have to start to write the speech, because the begginings are always difficult. However once we had started to write it with clear ideas, the process was entertaining. Reggarding to the best part of the activity, for me it was imagining the ideal school where we want to impose our leadership, because I have always dreamt about that school.

The best moment of the week Was when we were doing the publicitary poster of Ana for the elections, we laugh a Lot. In contrast the worse moment of the week, was when we discuss about the leadership style that we will choose.

Definitely what  we have to improve for the next week is to be a more effective group, because we distract our attention easily. However we have to conserve the good atmosphere we have as a group. Also, this task has relation with our degree , because in a future we will identify these leaderships in the social context of a school.

I hope all of you like my reflection of this week!
Thanks for your attention!! 🌵

FACILITATOR WEEK 10

Hello everyone!! I am Victoria and this week I am the facilitator of my group 🙋

In the task of this week we had worked with the different types of leadership.

We had to imagine that we were candidates for the headmaster of the school and we had to prepare an electoral speech to try to convince the public. We prepared our speech and we exposed it during 10 minutes in front of the rest of our classmates.

On Monday, Linda exposed us the topic and gave us a document abou the types of leadership. In the afternoon we met to choose our type and to star thinking abour the speech and the things that we were oign to o for our campaign. Me, as facilitator, brought some sweet for my team in order to make easy our work.

On Tuesday we met again to follow with the speech and to finish the rest of the things and our star Ana
tested what she was going to say the following day.

On the campaign day we, as weel as the rest of the groups, did a good job and it was very funny

That's all for this week.

Thanks for reading.
See you next week!!!🙌

STAR WEEK 10

Hello everybody! I am Ana and this week I have been the star of my group.

We have celebrated the elections for the direction of a school and, as I have been the star, I have had to make a speech.

I was really frightened because I had to talk around 10 minutes and I thought that my nervous would damage my exposition. However, my teammates support me and they were a great hep. They write the discourse with me; and also they create all the publicity material for my campaign (posters, badges...).

We decided that it would be better if I would not read the speech, so I decided to memorize it. I must confess that I thought that it would be more complicated, but I was able to do it.

While I was memorizing it, I practised my performance with my colleagues. We decided to do a little scene for my entrance to the elections. Each member of the group had a role, Victoria and Andrea were my bodyguards; Emma was a fan; Sara was in charge of the music; and Marta and Clara distributed the publicity material. It was really positive for my presentation because I felt support; and also it made the speech funnier for my classmates.

Although I was really nervous, I think that I realised a good campaign as well as the other stars.

This is all for this week.
I hope you enjoy this post.
See you soon 😀🌵

CURATOR WEEK 10

Hi everyone!! I'm Clara and I have the role of the Curator-Farmer, so I'm going to show you what pages do we have visited for this ninth task. I hope you like it!!!
